לעתים ההערכה אינה נכונה (פתאום נוספה הכנסה או שלא הייתה הכנסה גבוהה כפי שציפיתם שתהיה) ובמקרים כאלה ייתכן ותהיו זכאים להחזר מס (או לתשלום מס נוסף).
כאשר מבצעים פריסה כזו, ישנה חובה להגיש דוח שנתי למס הכנסה בכל אחד משש השנים המדוברות.
בעת הפרישה מבצע פקיד השומה תחשיב מס צפוי, על פי בחירת הפריסה וכל המס משולם בסכום חד פעמי. לאחר מכן, במידה והפריסה בוצעה על שש השנים הבאות, מחויב הנישום להגיש דוח שנתי למס הכנסה על כל אחת מהשנים ובמידה והסכום ששולם יימצא גבוה מהסכום החייב בפועל, יקבל המגיש החזר על כספו.
חשוב לציין כי במידה וההערכה הייתה שגויה לכיוון השני, יחויב הנישום בתשלום מס נוסף. לכן מומלץ לפנות אל איש מקצוע על מנת לבצע פריסה שתטיב עם הזכאי לפנסיה.
